Locations are an area (amount of space) derived from a physical location. A Location is described by its map/schema and coordinates, where you can assign Gateways and Beacons.
Adding Gateway to a Location
To add Gateway to a location, go to Locations -> Locations List, select your location. If you don't have a location, create one by clicking 'Add Location', then give it a name and description (optional). Then click on 'Assign devices'. Select the Gateway(s) from the list located under the 'Gateway list' section and click the Assign dropdown menu to get the full list of actions. There click 'Assign to location'.
Once this is done, you will need to place your Gateway on the actual map.
For adding Beacons to the location, the process looks the same.
Map setup and placing Gateway(s)
Go to Location List, select your location, then go to the Map Setup tab.
The first step is to upload the blueprints of the space where you will be using your Gateway. You can use the map view and click on 'Add Building' to upload your own floor plan.
To resize/rotate/move floor plan on the map click on the floor plan.
In this example, the layout of the first floor of a simple office was used. Click 'Browse files', select your blueprint or layout file (in jpg, png or gif).
Then click on 'Save Location'. After saving, all that is left for you to do is locate the Gateway on the map. Click on "Start Placing" button and by dragging beacon or gateway name from the right hand side and placing it on the map. It will be shown as a dot (gateway) or square (beacon).

With the update to the Location engine, how do I place Gateways on the map?
These instructions are no longer valid.
Hi Christian! We will soon release an update to Panel which allows you to add Gateways. These instructions are still valid for customers who have an access to a legacy view.
