Kontakt.io Plugin + Cisco Spaces
After completing the troubleshooting setup steps, you can capture a real-time thermal image of a Portal Beam using the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. This thermal image allows you to verify its field of view and people detection, aiding in troubleshooting occupancy count discrepancies.
-
If the Portal Beam is mounted to the ceiling, you'll need to get its QR Code.
From Kio Cloud > go to Device Management 2.0 > Infrastructure > locate the Portal Beam and select its Unique ID > from its profile, select its MAC QR Code.
You'll scan this QR code when prompted in a subsequent step.
-
Download the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. If you already have the app, be sure to check for updates.
To download the app, go to the App Store or Google Play. Search for Kio Setup Manager .
App requirements: Apple iPhone or iPad: iOS version 15 or later | Android phone or tablet: version 5.0 or later | Bluetooth enabled (on) | Internet connection
-
Open the app> tap Kio Cloud Account > tap the Region to select the location of your Kio Cloud account > United States for U.S. or other North America countries or United Kingdom for the UK, EU and other European countries > enter your Kio Cloud email and password > tap Sign In.
-
Tap Install Devices > Beam > Portal Beam > Room Occupancy.
-
You're guided through the install steps that includes viewing the real-time thermal image. From the thermal image, you can validate the Portal Beam is clearly identifying the people detected within the room.
The steps includes scanning the Portal Beam's QR Code, assigning the "test" location, providing the ceiling height, completing reconfiguration (commonly the result of assigning the location), and completing the in-app tests.
NOTE: The Kontakt.io Plugin does not support setting exclusion areas.
-
If the thermal image does not accurately identify the people detected within the room, you may need to reposition the Portal Beam and re-take the thermal image.
If you need further assistance, reach out to your Cisco Spaces Account Manager or submit a support request to Kontakt.io and our team will get you in touch with the right person.
Once the install is complete, you can:
-
Re-take a thermal image from the Kio Setup Manager app
This can be helpful if you have re-positioned the Portal Beam and need to validate its real-time field of view and people detection.
From the app's My Devices tab > tap the Portal Beam > from the Troubleshooting section, tap Verify Thermal Camera.
-
From Kio Cloud, view and download the last thermal image captured from the Kio Setup Manager app
From Kio Cloud, go to Device Management 2.0 > Infrastructure > select the Portal Beam > from its profile, select its Occupancy tab.
