An important step in the Kontakt.io deployment journey is the installation and setup of your Kontakt.io devices. Infrastructure devices—like Portal Lights, Beams, and Beacons—need to be installed and set up onsite at their install location using the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. Tag devices—like Asset Tags and Smart Badges—are simpler and only require verifying they're powered on.
Topics include:
-
Be sure the Kontakt.io order has been claimed from Device Management 2.0—adds the devices to your Kontakt.io account.
-
Be sure that Smart Location setup is complete—the campuses, buildings, floors with their digital floor plan, and rooms.
-
If you're installing Infrastructure devices, you must be assigned to a Device Management role. Learn more about these roles.
Infrastructure devices remain in a fixed position and mounted to walls or ceilings. These devices must be installed onsite at their install location using the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. The app guides you through the installation process and key steps to make sure the device is ready to use.
Tip
If your deployment includes Portal Lights, always install these first.
