Asset Tracker shows where your facility's tracked equipment is in real time. Locate assets in whatever way fits the moment — locate the assets nearest you, search or filter by asset type, status, or additional details, or browse by campus, building, and floor from the map.
Assets Search view – locate assets nearest to your location
From the Assets Search view, you can quickly locate assets by their real-time location, ensuring you always have access to the right equipment at the right time.
Set your location
The first time you select the Assets Search view, you are prompted to set your campus and building location.
Set your location from the location bar on the map. Once set, your location is saved.
If your working location changes or you need to locate assets in a different campus or building, you can switch locations at anytime.
You can also move between the building's floors using the map navigation sidebar. The floor selector shows how many assets are on each floor, and those counts reflect the filters you have applied — so you can tell which floors have matching assets without opening each one.
Locate assets by their real-time location
With your location set, the asset list displays assets grouped by type. From here, you can search for a specific asset, apply filters, or select an asset type to find the asset you need. When you select an asset type from the list, the map updates to only display the assets of that type.
Whether every asset appears on the map as soon as Assets Search opens depends on an account-wide setting an Administrator controls. With Pre-select all assets on page load turned on, all asset types are selected and every asset appears immediately. With it turned off, the selection starts empty and you select an asset type or apply a filter to choose what appears. See Configure Asset Tracker app behavior.
The below example shows the "Monitor-Cardiac" asset types located on the floor. When you select an asset, the map automatically displays its room-level location.
Search for assets by their details
Use the Search bar to quickly find assets. Start typing and matching results appear automatically.
You can search by an asset's ID, name, type, or other asset details. For example, other asset details include Manufacturer, Model, or Serial Number.
The example below illustrates searching for a specific model 75CT and then setting the map Asset Status to Available.
Apply a filter to narrow down the assets listed
From the Filter feature you can set one or more filters to narrow down the list of displayed assets. This can be helpful when you have specific assets you are needing to locate.
Filter options include:
Asset type: Filter assets by one or more asset types. Helpful when want to locate specific types of assets.
Asset status: Filter assets by their status – Down, Available, Unavailable, Unknown, or Utilized. This filter requires Room Types to have Asset Types Rules that automatically set asset statuses by their room location. For example, assets located in Patient Room Types will commonly have a status of Utilized.
Show only lost: When turned on, displays assets that have not reported a location for more than two minutes (system default). While this setting is on, the Tag Status filter is unavailable. Lost assets display a Last seen date and time that indicates when their most recent location was received.
Tag status: Filter assets by their assigned tag's status. Not assigned indicates that no asset tag is assigned to the asset, so location data is not available. Online indicates that the asset's location is current and was received within the last two minutes. Deactivated may appear as a status option, but it is not used by Asset Tracker.
Not in home location: Shows assets that are not in their Assigned Home Location – the Facility (Campus, Building) and Department.
Assigned home location*: Filter assets by their assigned Campus, Building, or Department.
Acquisition type*: Filter assets by Owned, Rental, Rental duration, or Rental due date. Helpful when you're responsible for managing rental equipment. You can quickly view rental assets by their return due date or rental duration.
Maintenance*: Filter assets based on their preventive maintenance due date.
Manufacturers*: Filter assets by their manufacturer. This is particularly helpful to locate assets with a known manufacturer recall or recent service bulletin.
Room types: Filter assets by the type of room where they are currently located.
* Configured from an asset's Asset Details settings (see Asset settings).
Note: Assets Search results include assets across all tag statuses. Assets whose tags are not assigned or are deactivated appear alongside the rest, so a search returns everything matching your criteria. Apply the Tag Status filter when you want to narrow results to a particular status.
Tip: Once you’ve set a filter, you can copy the URL to save it as a browser favorite or share it with others.
View asset locations from the floor map
When you select an asset type, a specific asset, or apply a filter, the floor map automatically updates to display your selection.
Directly from the map, you can filter by Asset Status or apply additional Filters.
Using the map navigation sidebar, you can reset the map or adjust the view by zooming in or out.

The map uses visual icons to indicate the status of assets:
Green: Available
Red: Utilized
Grey: Unavailable
Grey with a “/” icon: Down
Grey with a “?” icon: Unknown
Use the Group assets by room toggle to control how assets are shown on the map. With it turned on, assets in the same room are combined into a single icon showing how many are there, which keeps a busy floor readable. With it turned off, each asset appears individually.
Tip: When an icon on the map displays a number greater than 1, it indicates multiple assets are located in the same area. To view the assets in that area, select the map icon. This will expand the map view and display all the individual assets within that area.
Select a room to see the assets in it
Select a room on the floor map to focus Assets Search on that room. The asset list updates to show only the assets currently in that room, along with a summary of those assets by type and status — so you can see what is available in one area without building a filter.
Distinguish rooms by their room type
Rooms can be color-coded by room type, making different kinds of spaces easier to tell apart on the floor map. A legend identifies which color belongs to which room type. When room type coloring is turned off, rooms appear in a grayscale view with cleaner outlines.
An Asset Tracker Administrator manages this setting and can be turned on or off. See Configure Asset Tracker app behavior.
Switch floors without losing your work
Applied filters stay in place when you switch floors, along with the asset list and navigation controls. You can compare the same set of assets across several floors without setting your filters again each time.
Locate assets from a mobile device
Assets Search adapts to a browser on a mobile device, so you can find assets and view their locations on a smaller screen:
Select Show map to switch between the asset list and the floor map.
Select an asset's map button to center the map on that asset's location and highlight it.
Scroll the asset list without unintentionally moving the map.
The selected asset stays highlighted as location data refreshes.
View the details of an asset
Each asset has a unique profile of its settings and location details.
From the list, when you select the name of an asset, its profile is displayed.
Map View – locate assets by campus, building, and floor
From the Map View, you can get a quick glimpse of the location of assets by campus, building, and floor. You may find this view helpful when you need to locate assets in a specific location.
From Map View > navigate to a campus and building > from the building, select a floor. From each floor, you can view the assets located in each room.
Floor view details
The Assets tab lists all assets located on the selected floor.
When selecting the name of an asset, its current location and details are displayed on the floor plan map.
When you select Show Details, the asset's profile is displayed. From its profile, you can view its settings (Reference: Asset settings) and location history.
The Rooms tab lists the quantity of assets located in room. When you select a room, the floor plan map automatically displays the assets located in the room.
Tip: From the map view, the toolbar allows you zoom out (+) to view more details.
The top section also displays a breadcrumb of your current location selected - selecting a location value will navigate the view to the selected location level.
