A floor plan image fails to upload or does not appear after the upload completes.
Unsupported file format
Smart Location accepts JPG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF files only. PDF, DWG, DXF, and other formats are not supported.
- Check the file extension of the floor plan image.
- If the file is a PDF or other format, convert it to PNG or JPG using an image export tool before uploading.
- Re-attempt the upload with the converted file.
Empty or corrupted file
An empty file or a file that cannot be read as an image is rejected.
- Open the file locally to confirm it contains a visible image.
- If the file appears blank or cannot be opened, obtain a new copy of the floor plan.
- Re-attempt the upload.
File too large
Floor plan images must be 1 MB or smaller. A file over that limit is rejected.
- Check the file size. If it is over 1 MB, reduce it by exporting the image at a lower resolution or using a more efficient format. PNG is often smaller than TIFF for the same image.
- Re-attempt the upload with a file under 1 MB.
Upload appears to succeed but the floor plan does not appear
If the upload completes without an error message but the floor plan is not visible on the floor map:
- Refresh the page and navigate back to the floor.
- If the floor plan still does not appear, try uploading again.
- If the problem persists, contact Kontakt.io support and include the file format, approximate file size, and any error messages shown during the upload.
