During device installation in Kio Setup Manager, the room selection list is empty or the target room does not appear.
Floor plan not set up
The most common cause: the floor exists in the hierarchy but the floor plan setup is incomplete. Rooms cannot be drawn until the floor plan is uploaded, the scale is calibrated, and the floor outline is drawn. Without rooms, there is nothing to select for device assignment.
- Open Smart Location and navigate to the floor.
- Check whether a floor plan image is visible on the floor map.
- If no image is visible, upload the floor plan. See Add a floor and set up its floor plan.
- If the image is visible but no rooms are drawn, draw the room boundaries. See Draw and configure rooms on a floor.
- Return to Kio Setup Manager and retry the room selection.
Rooms drawn but not saved
A room polygon drawn but not confirmed and saved does not appear in the room list.
- In Smart Location, navigate to the floor map.
- Verify that room polygons are visible and that each has a name configured.
- If polygons appear on the map but are missing in the room list, select each room and confirm that Save was completed.
Wrong floor or building selected in Kio Setup Manager
The installer may be searching a different floor or building than the one where the device is physically located.
- In Kio Setup Manager, verify the campus, building, and floor selected during the location assignment step match the device's physical install location.
- If the room exists on a different floor, navigate to the correct floor in the Smart Location hierarchy and confirm the room is there.
Rooms exist but the user lacks access
Campus-level access control restricts which campuses a user can see. If the floor is in a campus the installer does not have access to, no rooms from that campus will appear.
- Confirm the installer's Kio Cloud account has access to the correct campus.
- Contact the person who manages users for your account to grant access if needed.
