Rewards is the Hand Hygiene Raffle and prize system that recognizes badge wearers for their hand hygiene compliance. Administrators define the prizes for each Raffle, record who won each one, and track whether the winner has received it.
Rewards works alongside the Team Dashboard in the Hand Hygiene web app and the Kio Nurse Assistant mobile app, where staff see their progress toward earning Raffle entries.
Who works with Rewards
Rewards is in the Settings menu, and opens the Rewards Redemption page. It covers prize management, winner assignment, and redemption tracking. Only Administrators can open it, because it is managed in Settings. Each Administrator sees the Raffles for their own home campus: the campus of the Assigned Home Location on the staff profile linked to their user profile.
Things to know
- Hand Hygiene does not pick winners. The product has no draw mechanism and no draw date. Decide the winner however your facility chooses, then record the result here. Everything on this page is a record of a decision made elsewhere.
- Each Raffle belongs to one campus's race season and uses that season's name, start date, and end date — shown as, for example, Q1 2026 (Jan - Mar) Raffle.
- Every prize holds one of three statuses: Available (no winner recorded), Assigned (a winner recorded, prize not yet handed over), and Redeemed (the winner has received it). The prize cards show the status as an icon, not a word: an add-person icon for Available, an x-in-a-circle icon beside the winner's name for Assigned, and a check-mark icon beside the winner's name, on a highlighted card, for Redeemed. The word Redeemed appears only on the toggle you use to record redemption.
- A prize can be edited only while it is Available. Once a winner is recorded, the prize title is locked.
- Redemption is recorded separately from winner assignment, so you can mark when a winner actually receives the prize.
- Past Raffles keeps only the three most recent completed Raffles. Once a Raffle falls past that, it is no longer listed and its prizes can no longer be recorded or updated. Finish redemption before a Raffle drops off.
The Raffle lifecycle
A Raffle follows the race season it belongs to, and each prize inside it moves through three statuses:
- While the season is in progress. The Raffle is the Current Raffle. Add, rename, and delete prizes freely. Prizes start as Available.
- Recording winners. Once your facility has decided who won, record each winner against a prize. The prize becomes Assigned. You can do this while the season is still in progress or after it has ended.
- Handing the prize over. When the winner actually receives the prize, turn on Redeemed for it.
After the season ends, the Raffle moves into Past Raffles, where you can still record winners and update redemption — for as long as it remains one of the three most recent.
