The Team Dashboard is the web-app gamification view in Hand Hygiene. It shows how each department is performing across the current season, where it stands against other departments, and which staff are at the top of the leaderboard.
The Team Dashboard is the web-side companion to the gamification view nurses see in the Kio Nurse Assistant mobile app. Both read the same season data.
Where it is, and who has access
The Team Dashboard is a top-level menu item in Hand Hygiene. The Administrator, User, Contact tracer, Nurse, and Nurse Manager roles have access to it. Viewer and Limited User do not.
Hand Hygiene opens on this page when a Nurse signs in, because it is the only page that role opens.
If no season is active, the page still appears — it shows The race season has not started yet. rather than hiding.
What the Team Dashboard messages mean
When the page can't show a department's data, it shows a message instead. Most of these need an Administrator to fix the user's setup.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| The race season has not started yet. | No race season is active. |
| Your user account is not connected to a staff member with a department assigned. Please contact your Administrator. | Your user profile isn't linked to a staff profile, or the linked staff profile has no department. |
| Your user is missing configuration and is not connected with Staff with Department assigned, please contact your Administrator. | Your user profile is missing the setup that links it to a staff profile with a department. |
| The selected department is not taking part in the current race season. | The department you selected has no data in the current season. |
| Your user has no campus access configured. Please contact your Administrator. | Your user profile has access to no campuses. |
| Your user does not have permission to view other departments. Please contact your Administrator. | Your role doesn't let you view departments other than your own. |
| We could not load your locations. Please refresh the page, and contact your Administrator if the problem persists. | The campus and department lists didn't load. |
| The requested data could not be found. Please contact your Administrator. | The page couldn't find the data it asked for. |
| You do not participate in any race | Shown in place of Department Race when the race standings aren't available. |
If one part of the page can't load, that part reports it: Failed to load current department statistics, Failed to load department race state, or Failed to load department overview data. Refresh the page to try again.
What the page is for
The Team Dashboard answers team and department-level questions:
- How is this department performing this season?
- How does it compare to others on the same campus?
- Who are this season's top performers in the department?
- How many days are left in the current season?
Choosing which department you see
Every panel on this page reports on one department at a time.
A Nurse sees no selectors. The page opens on that person's own department and stays there.
Every other role gets selectors in the page header:
- A department selector, which you can clear.
- A campus selector, shown only when the account has more than one campus. It takes one campus at a time, and the department selector stays disabled until a campus is chosen.
Until a department is picked, the page body reads Select a department to see its team dashboard.
The heading on the department panel tells you which department you are reading: My Department when it is your own, Selected Department when you have picked another one.
What's on the page
The page has two parts: the department panel, and Department Race (which contains the Awards block) followed by Department overview.
The department panel
A summary of the department's current season. The heading is the department name, under My Department or Selected Department.
- This Season: the season name, with Ends and the date the season closes, plus the days or weeks left.
- Total points: sum of points earned by all staff in the department this season.
- Good days: total count of Good Days earned by all staff in the department this season.
- Avg Streak: average streak of consecutive Good Days per staff member.
- Staff: count of staff in the department.
A circular progress gauge between the season dates and the stats shows the percentage of the season complete.
Department Race
A leaderboard comparing the department you are viewing to others on the same campus.
- The standings column is Pts/person. Its tooltip explains the standing: The department standing is based on your avg pts per person and avg good days per person.
- Each row carries its position, the department name, a bar showing relative standing, a trend arrow (up, down, or unchanged), and the average points per person.
- Your own department is badged You. A department you selected is badged Selected. If you selected your own, the You badge is the one shown.
- Rows far from the ones being shown collapse into a single line reading, for example, 12 departments and 8 - 19th place.
- View all (N) opens the full Race list across all participating departments. The number in the button is the count of departments in the race.
The Department Race rewards consistency across the team, not just a few high performers. Average per person matters more than absolute totals, so smaller departments can compete with larger ones.
Awards
The Awards block is part of Department Race. Awards recognize departments, not individual staff. Each of the four cards names the top two departments for that category, numbered 1 and 2, with the value and its unit. A category with no data yet shows a single row of dashes.
| Award | What it recognizes | Value shown |
|---|---|---|
| Most Points | The two departments with the highest average points per person — the same calculation the Department Race ranks on, so these are the first two names in the standings. | pts/person |
| Most Good Days | The two departments with the most Good Days per person this season. | days/person |
| Longest Average Streak | The two departments whose staff hold the longest average streak of consecutive Good Days. | days |
| Most Improved | The two departments that climbed the most places in the standings compared to last week. A department that did not climb is not eligible. | places gained |
Both the Awards block and the Department Race report department performance. The individual view is Top Performers, in Department overview.
Department overview
How the department's compliance is trending, and who its top performers are.
A Season / Month / Week selector in the heading of this section sets the period for its compliance figures. Season is selected when the page opens.
- Avg Department Compliance: the department's compliance percentage for the selected period. With Month or Week selected, it shows the change against the previous month or the previous 7 days. Season shows no comparison (0%, unchanged).
- Compliance Distribution: the spread of staff compliance across the department. The chart shows four markers, each with its percentage: P25 (25th percentile), Average, Target, and P75 (75th percentile). A narrow spread means most staff are performing similarly; a wide spread points to coaching opportunities at the lower end.
- Top Performers: the department's three highest-scoring staff, ranked by average compliance score for the selected period. Each card shows the staff member's name, their average compliance percentage, their longest streak in days, and their total points. The streak and points are for the season. When there is not enough staff data, the section reads Top Performers not found.
- View Rewards opens the Rewards Redemption page, where prizes and Raffle winners are managed. Only the Administrator role sees this link.
How the season works
A season is a defined time period during which staff earn points and Good Days based on their compliance performance. At the end of the season, the Department Race results are recorded and the season's Raffle winners are entered in Rewards (see Manage Rewards).
Use the department panel to see how much of the current season is left and how the department is doing relative to the target.
