When a setting update is made to a device it must synchronize to receive and apply the update. It's very important that a device's local configuration is always in sync with its Kio Cloud configuration. In this article, you'll learn how to synchronize a device to receive pending updates with the Kio Setup Manager app.
Note
Portal Light devices automatically synchronize with Kio Cloud to receive and download configuration updates over their local WiFi connection.
-
You have a Kio Cloud user account and have access to the devices being synchronized.

Tip
Have a problem with the app not finding a Kontakt.io device or it's not allowing you to perform an action? From your mobile device, turn Bluetooth OFF and then ON again. Wait for the app to establish its connection to the device. Also, be sure you have the latest app version. Allowing automatic app updates is recommended.
If this does not resolve the issue, close the Kio Setup Manager app and any other open apps using Bluetooth. Then reopen the Kio Setup Manager app.
-
Tap the device to be synchronized > tap Pending Configuration > and then tap Apply.
The update is automatically downloaded to the device, which can take a few minutes. During the update, your mobile device must remain within Bluetooth range of the device.
The Kio Setup Manager app Bulk Edit-Manage feature provides a method to set all devices within Bluetooth range to receive and apply pending Kio Cloud configuration updates. During a bulk update, the app updates one nearby device at a time and then continues to the next nearby device.
Note
Use of the Bulk Manage feature requires a Kontakt.io Kio Cloud subscription.
-
From your mobile device, open the Kio Setup Manager app > sign in with your Kio Cloud username and password.
-
From the bottom menu, tap Bulk Edit (Android) | Bulk Manage (iOS) > tap Start Bulk Configuration (Android) | Start Bulk Management (iOS) > app searches for nearby beacons to begin the updates.
This process may take time to update each nearby device. Be sure that your mobile device does not enter sleep mode during the bulk update.
