Where a Portal Light is located impacts its connectivity and operation. We recommended identifying a location that meets the following guidelines.
At the install location, a wireless signal strength of -80 dBm or stronger. It's recommended to measure the strength with a mobile Wi-Fi analyzer app.
Locate at the perimeter of a room or area to ensure all tracking points are inside.
Designed for placement on a wall facing towards the perimeter of a room.
Place at a minimum height of 3.2 ft (1 m) up to a maximum height of 8.2 ft (2.5 m).
Do not install on a floor surface outlet or an outlet that would result in the Portal Light facing upward or downward.
Do not place where metal objects, such as cabinets, refrigerators, or suppressed wall surfaces will shelter or cover the device.
