After an Alert Rule exists, you can edit its settings or turn it on and off. Disabling a rule stops it from triggering alerts—useful during setup or a planned network outage—without deleting it. Managing Alert Rules requires the Asset Tracker Administrator role.
Edit an Alert Rule
- From your Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Asset Tracker.
- Go to Settings > Alert Rules.
- From the list, select the Alert Name, then select Edit.
- Find the setting to change and select its edit icon
.
- Select Save.
Enable or disable an Alert Rule
A disabled rule does not trigger alerts even when its condition is met. Disable a rule for short-term situations where alerts are unnecessary or could cause confusion.
From your Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Asset Tracker.
Go to Settings > Alert Rules.
From the list, find the rule, then set the toggle in its Status column. Green is enabled; grey is disabled.
Result
Your changes take effect immediately. An enabled rule triggers alerts when its condition is met; a disabled rule stays in the list but does not trigger alerts until you enable it again.
