Create a PAR Level alert rule

A PAR Level alert rule triggers an alert when a monitored asset type's count in a location reaches its Warning or Critical PAR level. Use it to prompt replenishment before a location runs short of the equipment staff depend on.

Before you begin

  • You are assigned the Asset Tracker Administrator role.
  • PAR Levels are configured for the asset types and locations you want to monitor. See Track and monitor PAR Levels.
  • The assets or asset types you want to monitor exist in Asset Tracker.

Create the rule

  1. From your Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Asset Tracker.
  2. Go to Settings > Alert Rules.
  3. Select Create Alert Rule, then select PAR Levels.
  4. On Step 1 General, enter a Name and select a Severity. The rule is active by default; to save it without triggering alerts yet, clear Activate Alert Rule.
  5. On Step 2 Applies To, select the specific assets, asset types, or Groups the rule monitors.
  6. On Step 3 Condition, select the PAR level that triggers the alert—Warning or Critical.
  7. On Step 4 Actions, select who is notified and how—email, SMS text, or Webhook. For each method, add recipients as individual email addresses or phone numbers, or select Users and User groups. See About Alert Rules actions and notification recipients.
  8. On Step 5 Summary, review the settings and select Save.

Result

The rule appears in Settings > Alert Rules. While it is active, an alert triggers and notifies your chosen recipients whenever a monitored asset type reaches the PAR level you set in a location. To pause or change it later, see Manage Alert Rules.
