The dashboard is where Smart Location opens, and where you check the health of a deployment at a glance. It shows overall device counts at the top and your full location hierarchy as a tree below, with live statistics for every campus, building, and floor.
Overall device counts
A row of counts across the top of the dashboard summarizes the devices across your whole account:
- Gateways: how many gateways are online and how many are offline. A gateway counts as online when it has sent data recently.
- Portal Beams: the total number of Portal Beam devices.
- Beacons: the total number of beacon devices.
- Tags: the total number of Tags.
These give you a quick read on the size and state of the deployment before you drill into any one area.
The campus tree
Below the counts, the dashboard presents your campuses, buildings, and floors as an expandable tree. Each node shows device statistics for the area beneath it, and the counts roll up the tree: a campus node summarizes everything under it, while a floor node shows only that floor.
Expand a campus to see its buildings, and a building to see its floors. You can search the tree by location name to jump straight to a specific area. Use this to find a floor where gateways have gone offline, or where expected devices are missing.
Opening a floor from the dashboard
From a floor in the tree, you can open that floor's detailed views:
- The live view, which shows the floor in real time — its rooms, the devices placed on it, and where people and assets are located. See View live location on a floor.
- The coverage heatmap, which grades how well gateways cover the floor. See Coverage heatmap.
How the dashboard fits
The dashboard is a monitoring surface, not a setup step. You build the hierarchy, floor plans, and devices first, under Campuses; the dashboard then lets you confirm everything is online and gives you an early signal when a device drops off.
