The diagnostic report checks the Portal Light's connectivity and configuration status in real time — Wi-Fi connection, Kio Cloud reachability, IP address assignment, time synchronization, and more. Run it after installation to confirm the device is healthy, or any time the Portal Light shows errors or goes offline.
Before you begin
- Signed in to Kio Setup Manager with the Device Management role
- Portal Light is powered on and within Bluetooth range of your mobile device
Steps
- Open the device detail view for the Portal Light:
- Tap Devices > Nearby and select it from the nearby list, or
- Tap Scan and scan the QR code on the device label
- Tap the actions menu and select Fetch diagnostic report.
- Kio Setup Manager connects to the Portal Light over Bluetooth and runs the diagnostic checks. Progress messages appear as each check completes:
- Looking for nearby device
- Verifying nearby device
- Fetching diagnostic data
- Fetching Wi-Fi network list (if applicable)
- Review the results when the report appears. See Portal Light diagnostic report reference for a full explanation of each check and what to do when a check fails.
Note: The diagnostic report requires Bluetooth proximity. If Kio Setup Manager cannot reach the device over Bluetooth, move closer and retry.
What happens next
The diagnostic report identifies the specific component that is failing — for example, whether the Portal Light can see the Wi-Fi network but cannot connect, or whether it is connected to Wi-Fi but cannot reach Kio Cloud. Use the results to target the fix rather than repeating the full installation.
For a complete guide to each diagnostic result and recommended actions, see Portal Light diagnostic report reference.
