Use the Compliance Analytics page to see how well hand hygiene is practiced across your campuses, departments, teams, and Staff Roles, and how that changes over time. You can narrow the page to a unit, a shift, or a day of the week, compare units side by side, download the opportunities behind the numbers, and generate a PDF Compliance Report to share.
The page title is Compliance Analytics, and it opens when you open Hand Hygiene. Hand hygiene data is meant for trend analysis and coaching, not for discipline. For how each number is calculated, see About compliance.
Before you begin
- You're signed in to Hand Hygiene with the Administrator, User, Contact tracer, Viewer, Limited User, or Nurse Manager role. The Nurse role does not have access to Compliance.
- You have access to the campuses you want to review. The page shows data only for campuses assigned to you in the Users app.
Open the Compliance Analytics page
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Hand Hygiene.
- If the Compliance Analytics page is not already open, select Compliance in the menu.
The page opens with the last 30 days of data for every campus you have access to. The filter summary reads "Showing compliance across All Locations".
Set the date range
- Select the date range in the page header.
- Under Presets:, select Last 7 days, Last 14 days, Last 28 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days. Or select a start date and an end date on the calendar.
The whole page updates for the new range. The start date can be up to 365 days ago. Every preset includes today, and today's opportunities are still being scored, so compare completed days or weeks when you look for a trend.
Filter the data
The filters are a row of buttons: Location, Department, Team, Role, Day, and Time. They apply to the KPI tiles, the Compliance Over Time chart, and the exported CSV. They also apply to the rankings while the rankings are linked to filters.
- Select a filter button to open its list.
- Select the checkbox beside each option you want. Use Search to find an option in a long list, All to select every option, or Clear to deselect them.
- Select outside the list to close it.
The button shows how many options are selected. Choose the filter that answers your question:
| Filter | Use it to see |
|---|---|
| Location | One or more campuses. |
| Department | Opportunities in rooms that belong to the selected departments, whoever worked there. |
| Team | Opportunities for staff whose home department is one of the selected departments, wherever they worked. |
| Role | Opportunities for staff with the selected Staff Roles. |
| Day | Visits that started on the selected days of the week. |
| Time | Visits that started in the selected periods: Day shift (7am–7pm), Night shift (7pm–7am), Morning (6am-12pm), Afternoon (12pm-6pm), or Evening (6pm-12am). |
When you select a campus in Location, the Department and Team lists show only that campus's departments. A department name that exists on more than one campus includes all of them until you select a campus.
The filter summary states what the page is showing, for example "Showing compliance at North Campus for Dispensers in ICU Department for Nurse Role on Mondays". "for Dispensers in" names the Department filter and "for Staff in" names the Team filter. Read it when you are unsure which filters a number reflects.
To remove every filter at once, select Clear all. The date range stays as it is.
The page address updates with your date range and filters. To share a view with a colleague, or to return to it later, copy the address from your browser. Colleagues see only the campuses they have access to.
Check the compliance rates
The page opens with three tiles. Each shows a trend indicator that compares your date range with the period of the same length just before it, and a small bar chart of the last seven days.
- Overall Compliance: the headline score, where an opportunity with both washes counts as 100% and one with a single wash counts as 50%. Beneath it, Full: is the share of opportunities with both washes, and Any: is the share with at least one wash. Select the information icon beside the title to see the definitions.
- Total Opportunities: the number of opportunities in your date range and filters. Fully Compliant: beneath it is how many had both washes.
- Total Activations: the number of dispenses recorded in your date range and filters.
A tile shows -- when there is no data for the current selection.
The trend percentage is the relative change from the earlier period, not a change in percentage points. A rise in Overall Compliance from 50% to 60% shows as 20%. When the earlier period had no data, there is no trend indicator. If the Total Opportunities or Total Activations indicator shows --, point at it: Not enough data to calculate trend means data for one of the two periods is still arriving or incomplete.
Compare compliance over time
The Compliance Over Time chart shows compliance for each day of your range, or for each week when the range is longer than 35 days. It opens with two lines, Overall and Any.
- Select Series on the chart.
- Under Compare up to 2, select the checkbox for each rate you want to see: Overall, Any, Full, or Single-wash. Once two are selected, clear one before you select another. At least one stays selected.
- Compare each line with the target line, your full-compliance target from Compliance Thresholds in Settings. It is labeled Target when Full is selected, and Full target otherwise.
To compare with the target, show Full. Point at the chart to see the values for a day or week.
Compare units in the rankings
The rankings panel lists units from highest to lowest Overall Compliance.
Select a tab: Department, Team, Campus, Building, or Role. The panel title changes to match, for example Department Rankings.
Read each row: the rank, the unit name, its trend indicator, its Overall Compliance, a progress bar, and the number of opportunities. The score and bar are green at or above your target, yellow between your warning level and target, and red below the warning level.
Use the panel's page controls to see more units. Choose 5, 10, or 15 rows per page.
-
To choose whether the rankings follow your filters, select the link icon in the rankings panel:
- Rankings linked to filters (the default): the rankings use the same date range and filters as the rest of the page.
- Rankings independent of filters: the rankings use only the date range, so you can see where every unit stands while the rest of the page stays filtered.
Check the opportunity count on each row before comparing units. A unit with very few opportunities can rank first or last on a handful of visits.
The rankings do not open a unit's details. To look more closely at one unit, set it as a filter. For example, to review one department, select it in Department, then check the Role tab of the rankings to compare Staff Roles within it.
Check for locations with incomplete data
When some campuses that match your date range and filters have missing or partial data, a notice says the calculated compliance, opportunities, or rankings might not reflect real data.
- In the notice, select here.
- In Locations with incomplete data, review each campus and the days marked Missing or Partial.
- Optional: to hide the notice, select its close icon (Dismiss this note).
The notice appears again if the affected campuses or days change.
Find the visits behind a number
The Compliance Analytics page shows totals only. To see the individual visits behind them, with the staff member, room, and the time of each credited wash, go to Management > All Opportunities, or export the opportunities from this page. See All Opportunities.
Export the opportunities
- Set the date range and filters you want.
- Select Export CSV.
- Keep the page open while the Preparing your export message shows its progress.
When the file is ready, the message changes to Export ready and the download starts. The file is named all_opportunities_dd_MM_yy.csv, with the export date. It contains every opportunity in your date range and filters, one row per opportunity, with the same columns as the All Opportunities export. The rankings setting has no effect on the export. If part of your date range is older than the stored data, Export ready says that opportunities before that date were not included.
If the export cannot be completed, Hand Hygiene shows Failed to export opportunities. Try again, or narrow the date range.
Generate a Compliance Report
The Compliance Report is a PDF that summarizes compliance for a date range and location. It is useful for sharing results with people who don't use Hand Hygiene.
- Select Report, then select Compliance Report.
- In the Compliance Report window, check the Date range:. It starts with the page's date range, and you can change it.
- Optional: in Location (Optional):, select one campus.
- Optional: in Department (Optional):, select a department on that campus. This field is available once a location is selected.
- Optional: in Note (Optional):, add a note to include in the report, up to 1,000 characters.
- Select Generate.
The PDF downloads when it is ready. If you leave Location and Department empty, the report covers all campuses you have access to.
The report uses only the date range, location, and department in this window. It does not apply the page's Team, Role, Day, or Time filters, so its figures can differ from what the page shows. For scheduled and recurring reports, see About reports.
If part of the page doesn't load
Each part of the page loads separately. If one fails, Hand Hygiene shows one of these messages and the rest of the page still works:
- Failed to load compliance statistics: the Overall Compliance and Total Opportunities tiles.
- Failed to load total activations: the Total Activations tile.
- Failed to load compliance over time: the Compliance Over Time chart.
- Failed to load compliance rankings: the rankings panel.
- Failed to load compliance target configuration: the Target line and ranking colors.
Refresh the page to try again. If the rankings show No data available, or the chart shows no data, no opportunities match your date range and filters. Widen the date range or remove a filter.
If the numbers load but look lower or emptier than you expect, see Troubleshooting: Compliance data looks incomplete or delayed and the "When a number can mislead" section of About compliance.
