To notify staff by a text (SMS) message when a policy condition is met, first create a text message action. The action sets the recipients, the event data (parameters), and the text included in each notification.
Before you begin
- Your administrator grants access to set up actions in the Users app.
Steps
Open Policy Foundry from the Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Templates, then select Text Messages.
Select New text message, then choose Create from scratch or Create based on an existing text message. Create based on copies an existing action's settings, which you can then change.
Enter the settings.
Name: a unique name that identifies the action. This name is shown when you assign the action to a policy.
Recipients: the phone number for each recipient. You can enter more than one number; separate the numbers with commas.
Format: + country code + area code + phone number (U.S. example: +13125551212; UK example: +448875695123).
Text message content: the content of the text message. You can add free-form text and event data (parameters). To add a parameter, type text that starts with
$.
Select Save.
You can now assign this text message action to one or many policies.
