Tags, the Kontakt.io Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) devices, must be assigned and attached to tracked assets - commonly referred to as tagging assets. Properly assigning and attaching tags to assets is essential. Once tagged, an asset can be located from the Kio Asset Tracker app at anytime - resulting in the locating the right asset at the right time.
Topics include:
-
You must be assigned to the Asset Tracker User or Administrator role.

Important
A tag must be powered on or activated prior to tagging an asset.

From the list of assets, locate the asset > select its Asset Name. Its profile is displayed.

Select Edit > from its Assigned Tag setting, search for the tag being attached (either by its Unique ID or MAC address) > select the tag.
-
Select Save.
-
You can now attach the tag to the asset. See Asset Tag placement guidelines and instructions.
-
To verify the asset was properly tagged and its location data is being received, wait up to 5 minutes and then refresh the page to view the asset's location and verify the tag's status is Online. Online indicates Kio Cloud has received the tags' location data within the last 5 minutes. The tag must be within range of a BLE to Wi-Fi gateway device, such as a Kontakt.io Portal Light or other BLE compatible Access Point.
