Kontakt.io Tags must be assigned and attached to tracked assets—a process known as tagging assets. Once an asset is tagged, its real-time location is available in Asset Tracker.

You must be assigned to the Entity Manager Mobile User role.

Be sure the Kontakt.io Order ID is claimed. Once claimed, the tags are listed in Device Management 2.0 from the Tags menu.

You'll need to know the Asset ID (located in Asset Tracker) of the the asset being tagged. Optionally, if your assets have a printed barcode containing their Asset ID, you will only need to scan this barcode.

For Sticker Tags, proceed to Step 2.
By default, Kontakt.io Asset Tags arrive from Kontakt.io powered ON. Although, for large or custom orders the Tags may be shipped with their power OFF.
To verify if an Asset Tag is powered ON, press and quickly release a button located on its front side. If the tag's LED not blink, follow the below steps to power it ON.

Asset Tag 2: Press and hold either the blue or red button for 5 seconds. Once you observe the LED blinking, this indicates that the tag is powered ON.

Asset Tag 2 Mini: Press and hold its front-side button for 5 seconds. Once you observe the LED blinking, this indicates the tag is powered ON.

From your mobile device, open the Kio Entity Manager app.

Tap Kio Cloud account.

From the Region, select the location of your organization's Kontakt.io account.
United States: located in North America or Japan-Asia Pacific locations.
United Kingdom: located in the UK, EU, and other European countries.
Do not select Other, unless directed by Kontakt.io.

From Enter Tenant ID, enter your organization's Tenant ID > tap Continue.
This can be found in the URL used to sign in from a web browser.

Sign in with your user credentials. Follow the same process you use to sign in through a web browser. For accounts integrated with your organization's SSO provider, select this option. Otherwise, log in with your email and password.

From Select actions, tap Assign Tag to Asset.

From Select your Tag, tap one of the following options.
Sticker Tag: unique to this model, it requires activating its NFC.
Other Tag: select if you're assigning an Asset Tag 2 or Asset Tag 2 Mini.

You are guided through scanning the Kontakt.io tag.
Asset Tag models > Scan the Kontakt.io Tag. Locate its QR code printed on the tag or enter its 12-character MAC addres or Unique ID.
For a Sticker Tag,> tap Scan with NFC and follow the app instructions.

From Scan the asset > If the asset has a barcode with its Asset ID scan the barcode or tap Enter Asset ID to manually enter its Asset ID located within Asset Tracker.

An assignment Summary is displayed.
The Device Note is automatically stored in the tag's profile in Device Management 2.0. You can update the note as needed.

A Success confirmation is displayed.
You can now attach the tag to the asset. See Asset Tag placement guidelines and instructions.
You can also continue to assign additional tags.
