Add a building

A building sits within a campus. Add a building after the campus is created, then add its floors.

Parking lots are a separate building type with their own setup workflow.

Before you begin

  • Signed in to Kio Cloud with the Smart Location Administrator or Creator role
  • Campus created in Smart Location

Steps

  1. Open Smart Location from the Kio Cloud Launchpad.
  2. In the navigation, select Campuses and open the campus where the building will be added.
  3. Select Add Building.
  4. Enter a Name for the building.
  5. Set the building's address. By default, the building uses the same address as its campus (Same address as campus). Clear that option to enter a different address; the address positions the building marker on the map.
  6. Select Save.

The building appears under the campus in the navigation.

What happens next

Add a floor to the building. Each floor needs a floor plan image before rooms can be drawn.
