The Track your device action triggers a proximity indicator on the Portal Beam so you can physically identify which unit you are working with. Use this when multiple Portal Beams are installed in the same area and you need to confirm which device corresponds to a record in Kio Setup Manager.
Before you begin
- Signed in to Kio Setup Manager with the Device Management role
- Portal Beam is powered on and within Bluetooth range of your mobile device
Note: Track your device is not available for Cisco users.
Steps
- Open the device detail view for the Portal Beam:
- Tap Devices > Nearby and select it from the list, or
- Tap Scan and scan the QR code on the device label
- Tap the actions menu and select Track your device.
- Kio Setup Manager sends the command to the Portal Beam over Bluetooth.
- Observe the physical indicator on the Portal Beam — it activates briefly so you can confirm which unit you have selected.
What happens next
The indicator returns to its normal state automatically. No configuration changes are made to the device. Repeat the command if you need more time to locate or confirm the device.
