Install Kio Entity Manager on your mobile device before assigning tags to equipment or distributing Smart Badges to staff. The app requires your Kio Cloud credentials to sign in.
Before you begin
- iOS or Android mobile device meeting the minimum requirements:
- iPhone or iPad: iOS 17 or later
- Android phone or tablet: Android 8 or later. NFC hardware is required to activate Sticker Tags.
- Wi-Fi or mobile data connection with internet access
- Active Kio Cloud account and user profile with the Entity Manager Mobile User role assigned
Steps
iOS (iPhone or iPad):
- Open the App Store.
- Search for Kio Entity Manager.
- Tap Get to download and install the app.
Android:
- Open Google Play.
- Search for Kio Entity Manager.
- Tap Install.
All platforms — after installation:
- Open Kio Entity Manager.
- When prompted, grant the following permissions:
- Camera — required to scan QR codes and barcodes
- NFC (iPhone only) — required to scan Sticker Tags
- Turn on Bluetooth in your mobile device's Settings. Bluetooth must be on before any workflow can finish.
Note: If you dismiss a permission prompt during setup, you can enable it later in your mobile device's Settings app under Kio Entity Manager > Permissions.
Note: On Android tablets without NFC hardware, the Activate Sticker Tag workflow cannot finish because it has no QR fallback. Use an Android phone with NFC, or use Kio Setup Manager for Sticker Tag activation on tablet-only deployments.
What happens next
Kio Entity Manager is installed and ready to use. Open the app and sign in with your Kio Cloud credentials to continue.
If you do not have a Kio Cloud account or your user profile is not assigned to the Entity Manager Mobile User role, contact your Kio User Management Administrator.
