Find an available piece of equipment and go straight to it, without walking the unit to look. Use this any time you need equipment during a shift.
Before you begin
Before you start, make sure the following are complete:
- Your workplace is set. See Set up your workplace in Kio Nurse Assistant.
- You are on the Find tab.
Choose your quick picks
Quick picks are the four asset types you look for most. They are on the Find tab, one tap away.
- Tap Quick picks, or Edit if you already have some.
- Tap up to four asset types. Every asset type in Asset Tracker is listed.
- Go back to Find.
Each quick pick now shows how many are ready on your floor and across the campus.
Note: Quick picks do not limit what you can find. Search reaches every asset type either way.
Find a piece of equipment
-
On the Find tab, tap a quick pick — for example, IV Pump.
To find something that is not a quick pick, tap Search asset types and enter at least three characters of what you need, such as
wheelchair. Matching asset types appear under Asset types, and individual pieces of equipment whose names match appear under Assets. -
Read the list. Each row is a room and a status, and the closest one that is ready appears first. Equipment in other buildings is listed under Other buildings.
If nothing on your floor is ready, tap another floor in the row of floor buttons to widen the search.
Tap a row to open the equipment.
-
Read the details to confirm where to go and what to look for:
- Location — building, room, and department.
- Tag — the asset type, model, tag, how long it has been in its current status, and when it is next due for maintenance.
- Directions — written, step by step: the floor, the room to look for, and the department it belongs to.
Collect the equipment.
See equipment on a floor plan
Every result list can become a map, and the Floor tab shows the whole floor at once.
- In a result list, tap Map. Equipment appears room by room on the floor plan.
- Tap a pin to see what is in that room, then tap an item for its full details.
- To start from the floor rather than from an asset type, open the Floor tab. It opens on All equipment — tap that to filter to one asset type.
Result
You know the room, the floor, and the status of the equipment before you leave. The statuses mean:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Clean · ready | Free and cleaned. Take it. |
| In use | Someone is using it. Take the next one. |
| Soiled | Free, but it needs cleaning first. |
| Unknown | The app has no current status for it. Check the equipment before you use it. |
If you cannot find equipment you believe is available, see Troubleshooting: you cannot find equipment you know is there.
