If Kio Nurse Assistant shows nothing, or leaves out a piece of equipment you can see on the unit, the app is almost always filtering it out rather than failing to locate it. This article covers the filters that hide equipment and how to widen the search.
Before you troubleshoot
Check these first:
- Your phone has Wi-Fi with internet access.
- Pull down on the list to refresh it.
- Confirm you are looking at the right asset type. The app shows one type at a time.
Only clean and ready equipment is shown
Cause: Clean & ready only is turned on by default. It hides everything that is in use or soiled, so a pump left in a room waiting to be cleaned does not appear.
Resolution: Open Settings and turn off Clean & ready only. The list then shows every status, with soiled equipment last.
Nothing on your floor is ready
Cause: There is nothing free and cleaned on the floor you are on.
Resolution: The app does not leave you with an empty list. It offers the two ways out:
- Nearest ready is further — the closest one that is ready, on another floor.
- Or clean one that's right here — a soiled one on your floor that you could clean.
You can also tap another floor in the row of floor buttons, or tap All to search the whole building.
Your workplace is wrong
Cause: Results are ordered from the workplace you set, not from where you actually are. If you moved during your shift, the app is still measuring from your old floor.
Resolution: Tap the workplace header at the top of any view, set your current floor and department, then tap Set my location. For a permanent change, use Settings > Where you work.
On Android, the equipment has moved out of your workplace
Cause: The Android app filters search results by your saved workplace — building, floor, and department. This is a filter, not a ranking. Equipment that has moved one floor away, or into a room belonging to another department, does not appear at all while it is gone.
Resolution: Widen the search:
- On the Floor tab, tap Switch to campus context to look across the whole campus. Tap Back to home location to return.
- Or change your workplace to the floor you are searching.
Note: iPhone behaves differently. It orders results by distance rather than filtering them out, so equipment on another floor still appears further down the list.
The equipment has not reported its location recently
Cause: Equipment that has not reported a position recently has no location for the app to show, so it does not appear in search results.
Resolution: Ask your Kio administrator to check the asset in Asset Tracker. If its tag has stopped reporting, the tag may need replacing.
The asset type is missing entirely
Cause: Kio Nurse Assistant shows the asset types configured in Asset Tracker. If a type does not exist there, it cannot appear on your phone. Quick picks are also limited to the asset types that have equipment in your campus.
Resolution: Tap Search asset types and enter the name — search reaches every type, including ones that are not quick picks. If it still does not appear, ask your Kio administrator whether that asset type exists in Asset Tracker for your campus.
Nothing appears at all, on any asset type
Cause: Either your workplace is set to a campus with no equipment in Asset Tracker, or your account is missing the role.
Resolution:
- Open Settings and check Where you work. Confirm the campus is the one you work in.
- If the campus is right and the app still shows nothing, contact your Kio administrator and ask them to confirm you hold the Asset Tracking User role under Kio Nurse (Mobile).
Still not resolved
Contact your Kio administrator with the asset type, the room you expected the equipment to be in, and the workplace shown in your Settings. Those three together are enough to tell whether the problem is a filter, a location, or the tag.
