In this article, you'll learn about managing who has access to your Kio Cloud account, available user roles that grant permissions to apps and features, and how to manage permissions to beacon devices.
Topics include:
Who has access to your Kio Cloud account is managed from the Users app available from your Kio Cloud Launchpad.
When you add a user, their permissions are set by their assigned role. Each user is identified by their email address and their email address can only be associated with one Kio Cloud account.
A user's permission to view or edit beacon devices is set by their shared device permissions set in the Device Management app.

The primary use of the three available roles is to manage who can add users and assign device sharing permissions.

-
Superuser role: the parent to all roles (account owner/supervisor).
When a new Kio Cloud account is created, who created the account is assigned to the Superuser role.
-
Admin role: a child (sub-account/manager) to the Superuser.
A user assigned to the Admin role has permission to add new users and is limited to managing the shared device access for only the users they added. You can have one to multiple users assigned to the Admin role.
-
Operator role: a child (sub-account) to an Admin user.
A user assigned to the Operator role can only be granted shared device access. You can have multiple users assigned to the Operator role.

By default, only the user assigned to the Superuser role (account owner) can view and edit beacon devices.
To view or edit beacons, a user is required to have shared access that's set at the device level from the Device Management app. A user's shared access also applies to the Kio Setup Manager app and the user's unique API key for those integrating with the Kontakt.io APIs and SDKs.
If a user indicates they cannot view or edit a beacon, the first step is to verify they have shared access to that device.
