Keeping your Kontakt.io IoT devices up to date with the latest firmware version plays a critical part in their lifecycle management. With the Kio Setup Manager app, you can manage Kontakt.io device firmware upgrades locally onsite. This method is required for those that do not have a Portal Light infrastructure in place that allows for managed firmware upgrades.
You can learn about the latest firmware releases from our Firmware changelog.

Tip
Have a problem with the app not finding a Kontakt.io device or it's not allowing you to perform an action? From your mobile device, turn Bluetooth OFF and then ON again. Wait for the app to establish its connection to the device. Also, be sure you have the latest app version. Allowing automatic app updates is recommended.
If this does not resolve the issue, close the Kio Setup Manager app and any other open apps using Bluetooth. Then reopen the Kio Setup Manager app.

The update is automatically downloaded to the device, which can take a few minutes. During the update, your mobile device must remain within Bluetooth range of the device.
The Bulk Manage feature, only available on the iOS app and requires a Kio Cloud subscription, provides a method to update multiple devices to the latest firmware version at the same time. For devices nearby, during a bulk update, the app updates a single device at a time to the latest available version and then continues to the next nearby device.

From your mobile device, open the Kio Setup Manager app and sign in.
-
From the bottom menu, tap Bulk Manage > tap Pending Configuration > and then tap Firmware updates.
-
Tap Start Bulk Management.
This process may take time to update each nearby device. Be sure that your mobile device does not enter sleep mode during the bulk update.
