Setting up Managed Firmware Upgrades turns the feature on and sets the Firmware Upgrade Window, the days and hours when scheduled upgrades can occur. Do this once before you schedule your first upgrade, and return here to change the window or to pause upgrades.
Before you begin
Before you begin, make sure the following are complete:
- You are assigned the Device Management Administrator role. A Firmware Manager can schedule upgrades but cannot change these settings.
- Your Portal Light infrastructure is installed and online. See About Managed Firmware Upgrades.
Turn on Managed Firmware Upgrades and set the window
From Kio Cloud, go to Device Management.
From the Settings menu, select Firmware Upgrades.
Select Edit.
-
Select the Enable Managed Firmware Upgrades checkbox.
To pause later, clear the checkbox. Upgrades scheduled for the next upgrade window occur only while it is selected. Upgrades scheduled for immediately still proceed.
Choose the Timezone for the schedule. The default is UTC.
-
On the schedule, select the start of a time period, then drag to its end.
The schedule shows the seven days of the week, each divided into one-hour periods in 24-hour time. A day can have more than one time period.
Tip: To copy a day's time periods to every day, select its Copy icon. To clear a day, select its Delete icon. To start over, select Clear All.
Repeat step 6 for each time period you want in the window.
-
Select Save.
The change can take several minutes to reach your Portal Lights.
Upgrades scheduled for the Next upgrade window now occur only during the time periods you set. Upgrades scheduled for Immediately ignore the window. Next, schedule a firmware upgrade.
