Assign or reassign a tag

In Entity Manager, assign a Kontakt.io tag to an asset, or replace an asset's assigned tag with a different one.

Before you begin

  • You have the Asset Manager role. See About user access to Entity Manager.
  • The tag is already in your account and not yet assigned to another entity. Tags are added to your account in Device Management.

Assign a tag

  1. From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Entity Manager.
  2. Go to Assets and select the asset.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. In the Tag section, select Assign Tag.
  5. Choose a tag from the list. The list shows tags that are compatible and not yet assigned. Enter a Unique ID or MAC to find a specific one.
  6. Select Save.

Reassign a tag

  1. Open the asset and select Edit.
  2. In the Tag section, select Reassign.
  3. Choose the new tag and select Save. The previous tag is released and becomes available to assign to another entity.

Result

The asset shows its assigned tag, including the model and Tag ID. An asset without a tag is valid — it stays in the list with a tag status of Not Assigned until you assign one.
