Assign a Threshold Setting to a Room

Assigning a Threshold Setting gives a Room its acceptable ambient temperature and humidity range. A Room's threshold can be set when its Monitor is installed, and changed afterward in Temperature Monitoring. Until a Room has a Threshold Setting, its readings are recorded but no excursion is detected.

Before you begin

• You are signed in with a role that can manage configuration: Administrator or System Manager.
• A Monitor is installed for the Room, so the Room appears in Temperature Monitoring.
• The Threshold Setting you need already exists. Room thresholds use the Rooms—Ambient Temperature & Humidity type. See Create a Threshold Setting.

Steps

1. From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Temperature Monitoring.
2. Select Monitoring, then open the Rooms tab.
3. Select the Room.
4. On the Main tab, select Edit.
5. In the Threshold Setting section, choose the Threshold Setting that matches the room's required ambient range.
6. Select Save.

Result

The Room now measures each ambient reading against the assigned range. A reading that stays outside the range longer than the threshold alert delay becomes an excursion. Once the Room is in an Alert Rule, excursions trigger alerts.
