Kio Setup Manager checks whether the Portal Light's API certificate matches the current Kio Cloud certificate when you open the device's action menu. If the certificate is expired or does not match, Update certificate appears at the top of the action menu. Updating the certificate restores the Portal Light's ability to authenticate with Kio Cloud.
Note: This action only appears when certificate verification fails. If you do not see Update certificate in the action menu, the Portal Light's certificate is current and no action is needed.
Before you begin
- Signed in to Kio Setup Manager with the Device Management role
- Portal Light is powered on and within Bluetooth range of your mobile device
- Internet connection on your mobile device
Steps
- Open the device detail view for the Portal Light:
- Tap Devices > Nearby and select it from the nearby list, or
- Tap Scan and scan the QR code on the device label
- Tap the actions menu. If certificate verification has failed, Update certificate appears at the top of the list.
- Tap Update certificate.
- Kio Setup Manager pushes the updated certificate to the Portal Light over Bluetooth. Wait for the confirmation message.
- The Portal Light reboots to apply the certificate. Wait up to 1–3 minutes for the LED to return to solid green.
What happens next
The Portal Light authenticates with Kio Cloud using the updated certificate and resumes normal operation. Update certificate no longer appears in the action menu once the certificate matches.
If the Portal Light remains offline after the certificate update, run Fetch diagnostic report to check the remaining connectivity checks.
