The Track your device action sends a blink command to a Portal Light, causing its LED to blink for approximately 10 seconds. Use this to physically identify which Portal Light you are working with — useful when multiple units are installed in close proximity or when the label is not visible from the ground.
Before you begin
- Signed in to Kio Setup Manager with the Device Management role
- Portal Light is powered on and within Bluetooth range of your mobile device
Steps
- Open the device detail view for the Portal Light you want to identify:
- Tap Devices > Nearby and select it from the nearby list, or
- Tap Scan and scan the QR code on the device label
- Tap the actions menu and select Track your device.
- Kio Setup Manager sends the blink command to the Portal Light over Bluetooth.
- Observe the Portal Light's LED — it blinks for approximately 10 seconds, then returns to its normal steady state.
What happens next
The LED returns to its normal state after blinking. No configuration changes are made to the device. Repeat the command if you need additional time to locate the device.
