Sign out when you're not actively responding to alerts. This matters most on a shared responder device, because the signed-in user is recorded as the person who acknowledges and resolves each alert.

In the top-right corner of the alert list, tap the sign-out icon.
Tap Log out to confirm.
On iPhone and iPad, push notifications stop after you sign out, until you sign back in.
