Kio Nurse Assistant is a phone app that gives a badge wearer a private view of their own hand hygiene compliance. It is the only place a nurse sees their own numbers. The Team Dashboard in the Hand Hygiene web app shows the department, not the individual.
What a badge wearer sees
The app has three tabs.
Journey — your own compliance: today's score with a status label, your Day Streak, your Good Days this month and points for the season, the goals you can work toward, your rank within your department, and a 7-day chart.
Race — how your department is placed against other departments this season, and what you personally have contributed to it. Between seasons, the tab shows New season has not started yet, come back soon.
Rewards — your Raffle tickets, the next drawing and the prizes available, prizes you have already won, and a history of what you have earned.
What it does not show
You see your own results and department-level summaries. You do not see another person's individual data, and nobody sees yours through the app.
The app reads what Hand Hygiene already records from your badge. It does not collect anything new, does not report anything new about you, and does not change what administrators can see.
Hand Hygiene is designed for trend analysis and coaching rather than individual disciplinary use. The app follows the same intent: it exists so you can see your own pattern and act on it.
What has to be true before it works
Two things, and they fail in different ways:
You need the Hand Hygiene User role in the Kio Nurse (Mobile) section of the Users app. Without it, sign-in fails with an account error. Anyone who already holds the Hand Hygiene Administrator or User web role gets this automatically — most nurses hold neither, so it has to be assigned directly.
Your account must be linked to your staff profile. The app shows your compliance, so the platform has to know which staff member you are. It matches the Unique Ext. ID on your user profile to your Staff ID. Without the link, or if your staff profile's home location has no department or campus, the app shows Hand Hygiene Account Error followed by a technical message. If Hand Hygiene is the only role you hold, you are then signed back out. See Link staff profiles to user accounts.
You need an iPhone
Hand Hygiene activity is available on iPhone only. The Android version of Kio Nurse Assistant finds equipment and has no Hand Hygiene screens.
The app is designed for phones, not tablets. You need iOS 18 or later.
Where the numbers come from
Everything in the app is the same season data administrators see in Hand Hygiene. Seasons, points, Good Days, Raffles, and prizes are all configured on the web side — the app displays your own figures and changes none of it.
