Most dispensers are created by Kio Setup Manager when their Dispenser Beacon is installed. Add one by hand when you want the record in place before the install, or for a dispenser whose Dispenser Beacon was not installed through Kio Setup Manager. Before you begin
- You're signed in to Hand Hygiene with the Administrator role. Dispensers are managed in Settings, which only the Administrator role has access to.
Hand Hygiene has a Settings > Dispensers page with a Create Dispenser action, so you can add a Dispenser directly inside Hand Hygiene. This is independent of Kio Setup Manager: you can create the Dispenser record in Hand Hygiene whether or not the Dispenser Beacon has already been installed on-site. The form has no location field: a Dispenser's location follows its assigned Dispenser Beacon.
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Hand Hygiene.
- From the Settings menu, select Dispensers.
- Select Create Dispenser.
- Choose the Dispenser Type.
- Enter the Dispenser ID. It is required and must be unique.
- Enter a Name, if you want one.
- In Assigned Tag, search by Unique ID or full MAC address, and select the Dispenser's Kontakt.io Dispenser Beacon — an ES8 Dispenser Beacon, an ES10 Dispenser Beacon, or a Universal Dispenser Beacon. Assigned Tag is available after you choose a Dispenser Type.
- Under Attributes, fill in any attributes the Dispenser Type has.
- Select Create. The Dispenser appears in the Dispensers list and in Dispensers Management.
