From Company Settings, Entities are the assets and people within the Kio Apps and each entity has its own profile. If you have a hundreds to thousands of entities to add or update, be sure to use the CSV bulk import and export process.

You must be assigned to the Company Settings Administrator role.

Before you begin to add entities, verify an Entity Type exists for the entities being added.

An Entity is created for each asset or person.

An Entity is created for each hand hygiene dispenser unit (static asset) for use within the Hand Hygiene app.

Entities can also be added and managed from the Kio Apps by users assigned to an app's Administrator role.

Entities can only be deleted from Company Settings.

Assigned Tag |
The Kontakt.io Tag that is either attached to the entity (asset or person). Each Kontakt.io Tag has a unique 12-character MAC address or Unique ID - printed on the side or backside of a tag.

Associated Apps |
Displays the Kio Apps associated with its assigned Entity Type. The entity is shared with and available within the Associated Apps. |
Attributes |
An entity Inherits the attributes set within its assigned Entity Type and values are provided for the entity. For people entities, be sure all personal identifiable (PII) information follows your organization's privacy policies. |
Entity ID |
Uniquely identifies the entity (asset or person); duplicates are not allowed. Commonly, an unique identifier from the system of record - ensures consistency with the Kio Apps and your organization's record of system. |
Entity Type |
An entity inherits the Entity Type's settings - including Associated Apps, Attributes, Entity Type Rules set in Room Types, and the visual icon and color. |
Name |
Serves as a secondary name or alias of the entity (asset or person). Commonly, a name from the system of record to ensure a naming consistency within the Kio Apps and your organization's system of record. For example, for a person wearing a Smart Badge or Nano Tag, you may choose to set this to their employee badge name or a patient record name. Be sure all personal identifiable (PII) information follows your organization's privacy policies. |
Before you begin, verify an Entity Type exists for the entity being added.

This action should be performed with caution.
Deleting an entity removes it from Company Settings and its associated Kio Apps. If an entity has an assigned tag, the tag becomes available and can be assigned to a different entity. If you need to delete a large quantity of entities, submit a support request.

From your Kio Cloud Launchpad, select Company Settings.

From the Entity Management menu, select Entities.

From the list, locate the entity > from the Actions column, select its delete icon > confirm the removal of the entity.
