Room Types and their Entity Status Rules are a fundamental workflow component of the Kio Apps. From each Room Type, you can set Entity Type Rules to automate the status of entities (assets and people) by their room location. For Kio Apps' analytics, Room Types status rules must be configured or the status of entities are required to updated manually by users within the apps.
Topics include:
-
You must be assigned to the Company Settings Administrator role.
-
Entity Type Rules use the system statuses - Available, Utilized, Down, Unavailable, Unknown.
Each system status has a custom status that is set within each Entity Type. Custom statuses are commonly set values used within your organization's workflow or business rules.
Unknown is not included in analytics - its purpose is for use when Company Settings is not set up with Room Types or Room Matching.
-
A Entity Type Rule applies to all entities assigned to an Entity Type.
-
Be sure your Smart Location rooms are matched to their Room Type. This is required for Entity Type Rules to apply to rooms.
Understanding the power of Room Types and their Entity Type Rules is essential for various use cases. The outcomes result in knowing the availability of asset or people and aggregating data for Kio Apps analytics.
