Room Types and their Workplace rules are for use with the Kio Workspace Insights app. These rules set the maximum and target occupancy and identify if a room type is a collaboration or concentration space.
Topics include:
-
You must be assigned to the Company Settings Administrator role.
-
These rules apply to all rooms matched to a Room Type.
-
Be sure your Smart Location rooms are matched to their Room Type. This is required for the workplace rules to apply to rooms.
-
These rules can also be set and managed from the Workspace Insights app.
Complete the below steps to configure or update a Room Type's workplace rules.
-
From your Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Company Settings.
-
From the Room Management menu, select Room Types.
-
From the list, select the Name of the Room Type.
-
From its profile, select the Workplace tab (A) > select Edit (B).
-
Provide its settings.
Max Capacity: The maximum number of people that can occupy a room assigned to this Room Type.
For example, a Medium Conference Room with 10 seats (a collaboration workspace) has a Max Capacity of 10. And for a room with seats (a concentration workspace), the Max Capacity is the number of seats in the room.
Target Occupancy: The ideal or intended number of people occupying the workspace, which must be equal to or lower than the Max Capacity.
Collaboration Workplace Type: A workspace designed for use by more than one person, with a specified Max Capacity.
Examples include conference rooms, meeting rooms, or cafeterias. A Kontakt.io Portal Beam is installed in these rooms to measure room occupancy.
Concentration Workplace Type: An individual workspace designed for focused, concentrated work, such as desks or private work areas. A Kontakt.io Portal Beam is installed in these areas to measure seat occupancy.
-
When complete, select Save.
Repeat the above steps for each Room Type.
Note
Room Matching must be complete for Entity Type Rules to apply to rooms.
