Reset a user's password when they are locked out or need a new password. Resetting sends the user a password-reset link by email; you do not set the new password yourself.
Before you start
- Required role: User Management Administrator
- This applies only to users who sign in with a password. The Reset Password button does not appear for SSO users, because they authenticate through your identity provider.
- To change your own password, see Manage your profile, password, and API key.
Steps
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Users.
- From the side menu, select Users Management.
- Select the user whose password you want to reset.
- Select Reset Password.
- Confirm when prompted.
Result
The platform emails a password-reset link to the user's address. The user sets their own new password by following that link. Ask the user to check their inbox, including spam or junk folders, if the email does not arrive.
Note: Passwords must meet your account's password policy. By default, a password is 8 to 32 characters and includes at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Your organization may use a different policy.
