Disable a user to temporarily block their access while keeping their account, or delete a user to permanently remove them from your account. Disabling is reversible; deleting is not.
Before you start
- Required role: User Management Administrator
- Enabling, disabling, and deleting apply to users managed in Kio Cloud. SSO users do not have an enable or disable control in the Users app, because their access is governed by your identity provider.
Disable a user
A disabled user keeps their profile, roles, and campus assignments but cannot sign in.
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Users.
- From the side menu, select Users Management.
- Select the user you want to disable.
- Turn off the User enabled toggle.
- Confirm when prompted.
The user can no longer sign in. Their account and all of its assignments remain in place.
Enable a user
- Open the user's profile.
- Turn on the User enabled toggle.
- Confirm when prompted.
The user can sign in again with their existing access.
Delete a user
Caution: Deleting a user is permanent. The account and its role and campus assignments are removed and cannot be recovered. If you only need to block access temporarily, disable the user instead.
- From the side menu, select Users Management.
- Find the user in the Users list.
- Select the delete action for that user.
- Confirm when prompted.
The user is removed from the Users list and can no longer sign in.
