Manage your profile, password, and API key

Every signed-in user can manage their own profile and password from Profile Settings — no administrator access needed. The Security page, where you view the account's API key and manage MFA devices, requires the User Management Administrator role.

Before you start

  • Required role: Profile Settings is available to every signed-in user. The Security page — the account's API key and MFA devices — requires the User Management Administrator role.

Open your Profile Settings

  1. From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, select your initials.
  2. Select Profile Settings.

Change your own password

  1. Open your Profile Settings.
  2. Select Update password.
  3. Follow the prompts to set a new password.

Note: The Update password button does not appear for SSO users. If you sign in through your organization's identity provider, change your password there.

Your password must meet your account's password policy. By default, a password is 8 to 32 characters and includes at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Your organization may use a different policy.

View the account's API key

The account has a single API key for SDK and direct API access. It is a per-account (company) key — there are no per-user keys — and only a User Management Administrator can view it.

  1. From the side menu, select Security.
  2. Find the Server API Key. Use the copy action to copy it.

Note: The API key is a per-account credential, not a personal one. Keep it confidential — it authenticates API and SDK access for your whole organization.

Manage your own MFA devices

  1. From the side menu, select Security.
  2. Go to the Multi-Factor Authentication section.
  3. Add or remove your own one-time passcode devices as needed.

If your account requires MFA, you are prompted to set up a device the next time you sign in after removing your last one.
