An alert tells your team that an Alert Rule's condition was met—an asset entered or exited a location, or an asset type reached a Warning or Critical PAR level. Asset Tracker lists alerts for staff to act on and notifies recipients by email, SMS text, or Webhook. Viewing and responding to alerts requires the Asset Tracker Administrator or User role.
The alert lifecycle
Each alert moves through three statuses, so everyone can see where it stands from the moment it triggers to when it's closed.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
|
New |
The Alert Rule's condition was met and notifications were sent. The alert appears in Alerts List > active alerts. |
|
Acknowledged |
A user selected Acknowledge to show they're taking action. The alert stays in active alerts. |
| Resolved | A user selected Resolve to close the alert. It moves to Alerts History. |
Activity Timeline
Every alert keeps an Activity Timeline that logs each status change, the notifications sent, any notes users add, and Webhook activity (when the rule uses a Webhook). Asset Tracker stores all alerts permanently, so the timeline remains available in alert history.
