When an alert triggers, recipients on the Alert Rule receive an email or SMS text notification. You can respond directly from the notification without opening Asset Tracker first.
Before you begin
- You are a recipient on the Alert Rule that triggered the alert.
- You are assigned the Asset Tracker Administrator or User role to acknowledge or resolve the alert.
What the notification includes
- Alert details — a short description of what triggered the alert.
- A link — opens the alert's details and real-time data in Asset Tracker.
- Acknowledge / Resolve — acknowledge to show you're taking action, or resolve once the condition has been addressed.
Respond from the notification
- Open the email or SMS text notification.
- Select the link to view the alert's details, or select Acknowledge or Resolve directly.
Result
Your response updates the alert's status and is logged in its Activity Timeline, the same as responding from the Alerts List. See Acknowledge an alert and Resolve an alert.
