Kio Setup Manager does not have its own roles. Access to the app is governed by Device Management roles, assigned in the Users app in Kio Cloud by a user with the User Management Administrator role. A user must have a Device Management role to sign in to Kio Setup Manager, and their roles determine which devices they can install and manage.
Roles required for Kio Setup Manager
| Role | What it allows in Kio Setup Manager |
|---|---|
| Device Management | Install, configure, and manage infrastructure devices (such as Portal Lights, Portal Beams, and Anchor Beacons). |
| Device Management Administrator | Full access to all devices in the account. |
| Device Management Temp Monitor Installer | Install and configure Temperature Monitor devices. Required in addition to a Device Management role. |
The devices a person can install depend on the Device Management roles they hold. Device Management has additional Primary and Secondary roles, and a few roles specific to Kio Setup Manager — see About user access to Device Management for the full catalog, and Kio Setup Manager account and access requirements for what to confirm before your first sign-in.
How roles are assigned
Roles are assigned in the Kio Cloud Users app. For accounts without single sign-on (SSO), a User Management Administrator assigns them directly. For accounts with SSO, roles come from your identity provider. Role changes take effect at the next sign-in. If you cannot install a device you expect to, your user profile is likely missing the matching Device Management role — contact your User Management Administrator.
