View and respond to alerts triggered by Device Health, and download alert reports. An alert moves through a lifecycle that starts when it's triggered, continues as staff acknowledge it, and ends when staff mark it resolved once the underlying issue is resolved.
How to view alerts
From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, select Device Health, then select Alerts > List.
The list opens on Active alerts — alerts that are New or Acknowledged. Each alert shows its Status:
New: an active alert that hasn't been acknowledged or resolved. New alerts also appear in the Kio Cloud alert notification area.
Acknowledged: an active alert that staff have acknowledged to show they're investigating the alerting condition.
Resolved: an alert that staff resolved, or that the system resolved when the alerting condition returned to normal.
Escalated: an alert that escalated to an additional Group because it wasn't acknowledged, resolved, or the condition was still active after a set amount of time. See About escalation alerts.
To review resolved alerts, select Alerts History. Select Back to active alerts to return to the active list.
Sort or filter the list by any column — including Status, Severity, Alert Rule, Location, and Created — to find the alerts you're looking for.
How to view the details of an alert
From the Alerts List, selecting the Name of an alert displays its details.
The details show the alert's current status, the alert duration (the amount of time the alert was active), the activity performed by staff and the system, and the location of the device when the alert was activated.
Select Show in Smart Location to view the device's location at the time the alert was activated.
Select Report to generate the alert details as a PDF file. This is useful when you need to share alert information with people who do not have access to Kio Cloud or Device Health. Report is available only after the alert is Resolved — the button stays disabled while an alert is New or Acknowledged.
How to acknowledge or resolve an alert
If you are taking action to investigate an alert or have resolved an alert, be sure to update the status of the alert. This provides a method to let the other alert recipients know that the alert is being responded to or has been resolved.
When you set an alert to Resolved, it's good practice to add a note that describes the action taken. When an alert is set to Resolved, the alert ends and alert reminder notifications are no longer sent.
Note: If the alerting condition returns to normal and the alert has not been set to Resolved, the system automatically sets the alert to Resolved.
You can set an alert to Acknowledged or Resolved from several places:
Kio Cloud alert notification area: shows only the alerts that have not been Acknowledged or Resolved. Select the alert notification to open the alert's details.
Device Health Alerts > List: from Active alerts, select the alert, then select the status you want to set it to.
Email alert message: select the link in the message to open the alert's details, then select the status you want to set it to.
Text alert message: select the link in the message, then tap the status you want to set it to.
