Export entities and room data

Company Settings can export your entities and room data to a CSV file. Use an export to review your current configuration, share it, or prepare data to re-import after edits.

There are three exports, each on its own page:

  • Entities — exports your entities from the Entities page.
  • Room types — exports your room types from the Room Types page.
  • Room matching — exports your room-to-room-type assignments from the Room Matching page.

Before you begin

  • Administrator role in Company Settings

Export entities

  1. Open Company Settings from the Kontakt.io Launchpad.

  2. In the navigation menu, select Entity Management, then select Entities.

  3. Select Export Wizard.

    Note: If you don't see Export Wizard on the Entities page, export may not be enabled for your Kio Cloud account. To request it, submit a support request.

  4. Follow the export wizard to generate the file.

The export produces a CSV. Each row is one entity. The file includes the entity's identifying details along with read-only columns such as its current location and status. Columns can vary by account.

Export room types

  1. In the navigation menu, select Room Management, then select Room Types.
  2. Select Export Wizard.
  3. Follow the export wizard to generate the file.

The export produces a CSV with one row per room type and its configured properties.

Export room matching

  1. In the navigation menu, select Room Management, then select Room Matching.
  2. Select Export Wizard.
  3. Follow the export wizard to generate the file.

The export produces a CSV listing each matched room and the room type it is assigned to.

What happens next

You can edit an exported file and import it again to apply changes in bulk, using the matching import for each area.
