We're happy to announce the release of the new and improved Kio Cloud Device Management 2.0.
So take a moment, grab that coffee, and learn about what’s new!
Our engineering team updated the Device Management app to the latest technology. This update will be experienced but likely go unnoticed as it allows the team to deliver features, improvements, and fixes much faster. As you add Kontakt.io devices, from hundreds to thousands, the app is ready and hence scalable!
We’ve streamlined the Device Management’s look to make the information you want to see more notable. You can also customize that look to maximize the way you interact with Device Management.
We know that the health and connectivity of deployed Kontakt.io devices are the heart of your Kontakt.io solutions. Monitoring your devices just got easier with this first Device Management Dashboard. This dashboard provides at-a-glance views to your most important metrics. What’s even more exciting is additional dashboards are already in the works!
From the new Dashboard, get insights into your devices' connectivity (last seen) and battery levels in a visually striking, easy-to-read display. It’s an interactive dashboard too. For example, select a bar graph metric and you're immediately taken to a pre-filtered device list for that metric.

-
New column customize feature - display what you need at any time from the Custom Table feature and move the columns to the order you like.
-
Improved visual status indicators - including available firmware update, sync pending, to status indicators.
-
More device primary configuration settings - we received feedback that our customers would like to manage more device settings from the Kio Cloud Device Management app.
These settings vary by the product model, and you may also notice a few different tab names.
You can also quickly view a device's location from a Smart Location floorplan map from the new Current Location option.
-
Device monitoring (coming soon) - set up alerts to get notified when devices needed attention.
As part of our product lifecycle planning, we decided to sunset device sharing. This feature, which included moving devices between accounts to assigning user permissions at the device level, was developed for specific use cases.
Learn more about this change.
Because we know change can be difficult to get used to, you can still switch back to the old Device Management app for the time being if you prefer. But in early 2023, this app version will be sunsetted and removed from Kio Cloud.
With the fresh look and feel, more features and configuration options, we think you’ll love the new and improved Device Management. And we have an exciting 2023 roadmap!
