Temperature Monitoring is a web app you open from the Kontakt.io Launchpad, the home screen for all your Kio apps. This article covers how to sign in and how the app is organized, so you can find what you need on your first visit.

Sign in with your user credentials. If your organization uses single sign-on (SSO), you're redirected to your identity provider. Otherwise, enter your email and password.
From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Temperature Monitoring.
If the Temperature Monitoring menus are not displayed after signing in, or it does not appear on the Launchpad, you have not been assigned a Temperature Monitoring role yet. Roles are assigned by your User Management Administrator or through your organization's SSO identity provider.
The Temperature Monitoring menu
Temperature Monitoring is organized into five menus:
| Menu | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Alerts | The action queue for active Storage Unit, Rooms, and Monitor devices alerts, and view alert history. |
| Monitoring | The real-time status view for Storage Units and Rooms. View current readings and statuses, plus measurement and alert history for each Storage Unit and Room. |
| Reports | The compliance record area. Generate, schedule, and download PDF reports for audits and reviews. |
| Devices | The list of Temp Monitor Pro and Temp Monitor Lite devices, including device status and calibration information. |
| Settings | Configuration for Threshold Settings, Advanced company-wide settings, Storage Unit Types and Alert Rules. |
What you can access depends on your role
The menu adapts to your assigned Temperature Monitoring role.
- Administrators and System Managers can access all menus, including Settings. Within Settings, only the System Manager can access Advanced Preferences.
- A Facilities Manager can access Monitoring, Alerts, Reports, and Devices across the facility, but not Settings.
- A Monitoring User or User can access Monitoring and Alerts for their department, but not Settings. Only the User role can access Reports.
If a menu area described here doesn’t appear, your role may not include access to it. Contact your Kio User Management administrator for help.
Where things happen
A quick map of where each kind of work lives:
- Alert response happens in Alerts.
- Daily monitoring, plus each Storage Unit's or Room's measurement history and alerts (active and resolved), happen in Monitoring.
- Compliance records come from Reports.
- Configuration: thresholds, alert rules, and system preferences, all under Settings.
- Installing and maintaining Temp Monitor devices happens on-site in the Kio Setup Manager mobile app, not in the web app.
