Acknowledging an alert confirms that you have seen it and are handling the response. Acknowledge an alert as soon as you begin working on it, so others know it is being addressed and, where the Alert Rule uses escalation, so the alert does not escalate unnecessarily.
Acknowledging an alert does not close it. The alert stays open until you resolve it, after you take corrective action.
Before you begin
- You are signed in to your organization's Kontakt.io Kio account from a web browser.
- Your user profile is assigned to a Temperature Monitoring role: Administrator, System Manager, Facilities Manager, Monitoring User, or User.
- Department-level roles see alerts only for their assigned department.
- The alert is in the New status.
Steps
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Temperature Monitoring.
- Select Alerts.
- Select the alert you are handling.
- Select Acknowledge.
- Add a note to provide other alert responders what actions you plan to take or have taken.
Result
The alert status changes to Acknowledged. On a Temp Monitor Pro, acknowledging also silences the device's audible alarm (the Temp Monitor Lite has no audible alarm). If the Alert Rule escalates unacknowledged alerts, acknowledging stops that escalation. The condition status does not change: if the reading is still out of range, the condition stays Condition active until it recovers. Take corrective action, then resolve the alert.
Note: Acknowledge an alert in Temperature Monitoring or from the notification you received. You cannot acknowledge from the Monitor itself, pressing the center button on a Temp Monitor Pro snoozes its audible alarm temporarily but does not acknowledge the alert.
