Asset Tracker now makes it easier to find and manage assets, understand asset availability, and maintain PAR Levels. This release introduces new Assets Search filters and floor map improvements, a more responsive experience on mobile devices, enhancements to Asset Management and Analytics, a redesigned PAR Level experience with 7-day quantity trends, and new settings for configuring the Assets Search experience.
Assets Search
Updates to Assets Search add more ways to find and view assets from floor maps, including an improved, responsive design when accessing Assets Search from a browser on a mobile device.
New and updated filters
- Assigned home location — You can now filter assets by their assigned home location. The filter includes the home location Campus, Building, and Department. The Home location filter was renamed to Assigned home location to make its purpose clearer.
- Tag Status — A new filter that narrows results by an asset's tag status (Not assigned, Online, Deactivated). By default, Assets Search filters assets by the tag status of Online.
Floor map improvements
Select a room to see the assets in it — Select a room on the floor map to focus Assets Search on that room. The asset list updates to show only assets currently in that room, with a summary by type and status, so you can see what assets are available in a specific area.
Asset counts per floor — The floor selector now shows how many assets are on each floor. Counts reflect the filters currently applied, so you can tell which floors have matching assets without opening each one.
Room types at a glance — Rooms can now be color-coded by room type to distinguish different spaces on the floor map, with a legend identifying the colors. With coloring turned off, rooms appear in a grayscale view with cleaner outlines. Administrators control this from Settings > Configuration.
Switching floors no longer resets applied filters or hides the asset list and navigation controls.
Find assets more easily from a mobile device
The Assets Search now provides a responsive experience when accessed from a browser on a mobile device, making it easier to find assets and view their locations on smaller screens.
- Switch between the asset list and floor map with Show map.
- Select an asset's map button to center the map on its location and highlight it.
Asset Management
Add more details when creating an asset
The Create asset workflow now includes key asset details that previously had to be added from the asset profile after creation.
You can now add the following when creating a new asset:
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Serial Number
For the Manufacturer and Model, you can select an existing value or enter a new one.
Improved Asset Management table
From the Asset Management table view, you now have more control over how asset information is organized, while also adapting to different browser screen sizes.
Improvements include:
- Arrange columns — Drag a column heading to move it and keep the information used most where it is easiest to access.
- Resize columns — Adjust column widths to make asset information easier to review.
- Sort the table — Select a column heading to sort assets by that column.
- Responsive design — The table adapts to different browser screen sizes, including when Asset Tracker is accessed from a browser on a mobile device.
Analytics — Advanced view improvements
- Change the reporting period in one step — New preset date ranges, including Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and Last 90 days.
- Analytics by Asset Type is the new default view – Prior to this update the default was Analytics by Campus.
PAR Levels
PAR Levels has been redesigned to make it easier to review quantities, identify 7-day trends, and update PAR Levels.
Review PAR Levels by asset type or location
The redesigned PAR Level experience makes it easier to review asset quantities and identify locations or asset types that may need attention.
Improvements include:
- View PAR Levels by Asset type or Location.
- Break down location results by Rooms or Departments.
- Navigate floors from the floor selection filter.
- Compare Critical, Target, and Current quantities in the asset matrix.
Review 7-day quantity trends against PAR Levels
Expand a row to see how asset quantities have changed over the last 7 days and how they compare with the configured Critical and Target PAR Levels.
The graph highlights when quantities were:
- Below critical
- In range
- Above target
This makes it easier to spot recurring shortages or excess inventory and identify where PAR Levels or asset distribution may need attention.
Edit PAR Levels
The updated Edit PAR workflow makes it easier to adjust PAR Levels from the same view used to review asset quantities.
Improvements include:
- To edit PAR Levels, Rooms must be selected.
- Select Edit PAR to update PAR Levels directly in the asset matrix.
- Update Critical and Target PAR Levels by Asset Type and Rooms.
- The PAR Level experience also adapts to smaller screens.
Asset Tracker settings
Set the Assets Search experience
A new Configuration page under Settings gives administrators app-level controls for the Assets Search experience across their organization.
Available settings include:
- Color rooms by room type on the map — When enabled, rooms are color-coded by room type, making different types of spaces easier to distinguish on the floor map. The floor map includes a legend to identify the colors by room type.
- Pre-select all assets on page load — When turned on, all asset types are selected when Assets Search opens, so every asset appears on the floor map without anyone selecting an asset type or applying a filter. When turned off, the selection starts empty and users select an asset type or apply filters to control what appears.
