This release improves how you monitor device connectivity and health. Device Management now provides a more consistent view of device status with a unified Online/Offline state, updated connectivity fields, and clearer battery information. Device Health has also been updated with new dashboard views and more actionable alerting.
Improved — Device Management
A consistent Online/Offline status
Device Management now uses a single Status across the Tags and Infrastructure device lists and each device's General tab.
A device is:
- Online when Kio Cloud has received data from the device within the last 24 hours.
- Offline when no data has been received within the last 24 hours.
In the devices list, status is shown with an icon—green for Online and grey for Offline. This replaces the previous mix of status labels, making it easier to identify devices that require attention at a glance.
When a device is Offline, an information icon displays the reason so you can quickly identify the cause.
Updated connectivity fields
The connectivity fields have been updated to better reflect a device's connection history.
- Last Online replaces Last Seen and shows the last time Kio Cloud received data from the device.
- First Online is a new field that shows when the device first connected to Kio Cloud.
These fields make it easier to understand when a device first became active and how long it has been offline.
About device status and connectivity
Clearer battery and power information
The Battery field now displays the device's current battery level or Unknown if no battery reading has been received.
A new Power source field identifies whether the device is operating on Battery power or External Power.
Updated Dashboard metrics
The Device Management Dashboard has been updated to match the new connectivity terminology.
Changes include:
- Connectivity charts now use Last Online.
- A new Infrastructure Battery Level chart is always available.
- Devices that have not yet reported a battery reading are grouped under Unknown.
Connectivity and synchronization are now separate
Status indicates whether a device is Online or Offline.
The Synchronizing column continues to show whether a device has received a pending configuration update.
Separating connectivity from synchronization makes it easier to distinguish devices that are offline from devices that have pending configuration changes.
Improved — Device Health
New Overview and Analytics dashboards
Device Health now includes two additional dashboard views alongside Alert History:
- Overview displays Online and Offline device counts by campus and location across 24-hour, 7-day, 14-day, and 28-day time ranges.
- Analytics provides historical device health trends over time.
These dashboards make it easier to monitor device health across your deployment.

More actionable alerting
The Last Seen alert type has been removed because it could generate alerts that did not accurately reflect a device's connectivity state.
Device Health now supports these alert types:
- Battery Level
- Portal Light Offline
Existing Battery Level and Portal Light Offline alert rules continue to work without changes.
