User access to Device Management is controlled by the roles assigned to each user. When a user is not assigned a role in Device Management, the app is not be displayed in their Kio Cloud Launchpad.
The following provides the details of each role and its corresponding permissions.

All roles have permission to view the Dashboard located in the Inventory menu.

This role has all permissions — they can view and manage everything within Device Management, including access to all menus. What this role can do:
Role is ideal for: those responsible for managing all aspects of device inventory. |
Inventory Manager NOTE: It's recommended to also assign a user to either the Editor All or Viewer All role. This allows them to verify device inventory actions performed were successful. |
This role is restricted to managing device inventory — they can claim orders, import external devices, and activate device federation. This role cannot manage device settings or schedule firmware upgrades. Role is ideal for: those responsible for only managing device inventory. |
Editor All |
This role is restricted to editing all device inventory — they can view and edit device settings, schedule firmware upgrades, view the Firmware Upgrades settings, and install and edit devices from the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. This role cannot claim orders, import devices, or edit the Firmware Upgrades settings. Role is ideal for: those responsible for installing devices, managing device settings, and scheduling firmware upgrades for all devices. |
Viewer All |
This role is restricted to viewing all device inventory - they can view devices from Device Management and the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. This role cannot perform any device management capabilities, which includes editing settings and scheduling firmware upgrades. Role is ideal for: those that require access to view all devices, including their details and settings. |
Access Manager IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE: those assigned to this role must also be assigned to either the Editor All or Editor role - that grants their permission to edit and assign device access. |
This role is restricted to assigning device-level access to users - they can add, edit, and remove device access to users from Device Management. This role does not have access to manage devices. Role is ideal for: those responsible for managing user access to devices when you organization requires device access to be managed at the device level. Editor |
This role is restricted to editing devices the user has been assigned access to by an Access Manager — for their assigned devices, they can edit device settings, schedule firmware upgrades, view the Firmware Upgrades settings, and install and edit devices from the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. This role cannot claim orders, import devices, or configure the Firmware Upgrades settings. Role is ideal for: those responsible for installing devices, managing device settings, and scheduling firmware upgrades for specific devices. |
Viewer |
This role is restricted to viewing the devices they have been assigned access to by an Access Manager - from Device Management and the Kio Setup Manager mobile app. This role cannot perform any device management capabilities, which includes editing device settings and scheduling firmware upgrades. Role is ideal for: those that only require access to view specific devices, including their details and settings. |
